Ashanti Shequoiya, also known as Ashanti was born October 13 the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti became famous as a teenager and eventually signing with Murder Inc. Records in 2002. She was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that the same year. The track "What's Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule's "It's Always" on Time was a huge hit for both of them. First female artist to be atop the Billboard Hot 100's second and third positions in the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? The first female artist to have both of the Top two spots on the The Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States With Foolish as number one, and then What's Love? The Ashanti family can commemorate her special day here. Ashanti Douglas or Ashanti as she's popularly known, was born in Glen Cove New York in 1980. Tina Douglas, her mother was a former dance teacher. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. She is Kenashia's sister. She is the oldest of them all.
